Mixed Mediums

So I finally added a page to my website that was very much needed - a Misc. tab if you will. Now I'm sure it seems odd but I like to think of myself as a well-rounded artist. This is partially why it's just Anniee Adams and not photography by Anniee or Anniee's photography. I am not JUST a photographer. Yes, photography is my favorite medium but it is not where my art was born, and it's certainly not the only service I provide.

My father was a painter, a sculptor, a poet, a storyteller, a carpenter, an electrician, a mechanic, a genius if you can believe it. And so from a very young age, I was around all of these things that he was constantly creating and I wanted to be a part of that. I wanted to create beauty, I wanted to paint with all of the colors, I wanted to make him proud. As I got older, and was touched by darkness, my art was a powerful tool of expression. It molded me, and allowed me to let all of those feelings out in a safe environment. I am grateful now for everything he taught me.

So, if you were wondering: yes, I do commissions, though I am picky when it comes to it. I am inspired mostly by fairy tales, with a lot of dance influences, though I tend to add my own flair to it. I don't necessarily think of myself as a great painter, but some people seem to like it and I find it very satisfying.

The dying white swan, and the black swan

Please excuse the poor photo quality, most of these were taken with my phone.

I also paint on stuff... like cups and glasses.

...and chalkboards...

....and some calligraphy stuff...

I am also a professionally trained (used to be licensed in the state of Florida) make-up artist.

So if you, or anyone you know is interested, just holler at me. If not, then, well....now you know a little bit more about me.
