Kylia Marie

"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending" -C.S. Lewis

This girl is seriously one of the most inspiring people I know. She is brave and unstoppable. Her story is full of ups and downs but I can only tell you what I know. (Side note: check out that cool Mobile skyline. Don't hate but I love that little big city with all of my heart)

For being so young, she’s been through a lot in the last year and she has handled it with so much grace and fearlessness. I’m proud to call her my friend.

On August 18, 2016 her world was turned upside down with the sudden passing of her younger sister Sarah. I remember that day. I didn’t even know Kylia yet but I remember driving back from the beach that day, I remember the wreck, I remember the traffic jam behind it as I was on the other side of the road, I remember it. I cannot even begin to imagine what that's like but nothing loved is ever lost, and Sarah will always be loved and remembered by those who knew her and even some didn’t.

In October of that year, she underwent Gastric Bypass. I can tell you that I wouldn’t have gone under the knife so soon after losing someone so dear to me, I wouldn’t have been brave enough. I don’t think my mom would’ve let me. Granted, my mom is a little overly dramatic, but that’s a story for another day. But Kylia persisted, and I can tell you right now it was absolutely worth it. Just check out those before and after pics.

She is living a much healthier lifestyle, and I am so proud of her!

All of the collar bones.

Slay girl, slaaaaayyy.

I just know that she has so many wonderful things ahead of her, and I am so happy I got to document this little piece of her story, and hopefully she will continue to let me do so.

Girl, continue to be unstoppable.
